Apple in talks to introduce videos to iTunes - Tech News & Reviews - MSNBC.com

Nice news on the iPod today!

Hot off the virtual press at MSNBC reports that Apple is in talks with iTunes to add video to iPods, possibly as early as September.

Quoting the Wall Street Journal, CNN reported that Apple is expected to announce video capabilities for the iPod around September. Although the company is not commenting, it has begun bundling video offers with full album downloads on iTunes.

Other than music videos, what could this mean for other applications? Some say PodCasting is the next blogging. Does that mean PodCasting video is far behind?

Here's some background info from MSNBC on Microsoft-based competitors. It's interesting that even though Windows based alternatives were introduced a year ago, even then iPod was the comparison standard.
