In this morning's Washington Post, Brian Krebs reported on a Windows vulnerability that may affect the 90% of computers that run on Windows.

The article noted that Microsoft intends to release a patch for the vulnerability, discovered Tuesday, but had not said when that patch would be issued. In the meantime, the article recommended that users "ensure all Windows security patches are installed, avoid visiting unfamiliar Web sites, and refrain from clicking on links that arrive via e-mail or instant message."

The article also noted that users running Firefox, Opera or other browsers can still be at risk if they download an infected file. Linux and Mac users are not at risk.

Be careful what sites you visit, and be sure to set up your browser and e-mail client to avoid automatically downloading files.
